Community Pride Programs:

Each year Hawaii Self Storage offers $4000 Student Scholarships to high school students to pursue and obtain a college degree. This program is designed to help and support students financially to develop into future leaders in our community.
Applicants must complete an essay answering 4 required questions. Essays are then reviewed by high school counselors and HSS team members and selected based on quality of content and financial need. Students receive $1000 per year and must retain a “B” average to renew their scholarship for up to 4 years.   Read More...                             

"Lockers 4 Literacy" is a program created to promote literacy in Hawaii amongst our keikis and families in the community.  Hawaii Self Storage will donate $2 for every locker sold during the year to purchase books for 1st graders in our schools.  Each student will receive 2 books per year.  With support from READ TO ME INTERNATIONAL our staff also voluteers to read to the students at school.  Annually Hawaii Self Storage also promotes a customer bookdrive at each facility.  We offer our customers $2 rent credit for every slightly used donated book, puzzle, or game.  In 2007 we collected over 3,000 books in which we donated to the Literacy Hawaii Bookmobile and other local libaries and elementary schools.  Read More...
Hawaii Self Storage's T.A.P. (Transistion Assistance Program) provides a minimum of four months free storage to individuals who are experiencing financial hardship in the wake of layoffs, rising prices, and shaky real estate market.  This program was created to help Hawaii residents get back on their feet and help them through their transition while they readjust their living situation.  For more information or to submit an application contact our TAP coordinator Kai at 949-7233.
"Rent 2 Charity" is a program created to partner together in giving back to our community.  When you rent a new locker your first months rent can go directly to your favorite church, charity, or non-profit organization (501C3 Eligible).  We can make a difference on locker at a time. Read More...  
Hawaii Self Storage is also very proud to support keiki team athletics.  From soccer teams to football leagues we have provided uniforms and equipment to help encourage our kids to participate in these various athletic programs.  We have also assisted in helping to provide storage for their seasonal equipment and gear.   

Hawaii Self Storage has also recently partnered with Lokahi to become their official year- round drop-off site for their program.  We have provide storage unit, trucks, and manpower, and receiving services to help assist them with their distributions.  Hawaii residents can now drop off their donations year-round at any one of our convenient locations.

  Hawaii Self Storage owner Mike Wood, Foster Family Programs of Hawaii, the Department of Human Services and other community groups have partnered together in opening shelter in Maile for children from the Leeward coast entering the welfare system.  The home opening in Spring of 2009 will accommodate up to 15 children and provide 24/7 staffing, access to social workers and other health professionals, and all the amenities of home.
