Hawaii Self Storage is committed to serving the people of Hawaii and giving back to our community. "Community Pride" represents our outreach into the community. We have established various programs focused on enhancing literacy, education, teamwork, support to local charities, and helping families in need. In 2009, Hawaii Self Storage was recognized by Inside Self Storage as one of the most charitable self-storage companies in the nation.
Scholarships
Each year Hawaii Self Storage offers $4000 Student Scholarships to high school students to pursue and obtain a college degree. This program is designed to help and support students financially to develop into future leaders in our community.

Literacy
To promote youth literacy, Hawaii Self Storage has created Lockers 4 Literacy, a program which donates reading books for each 1st grader in our local elementary schools. Our team members, along with Mr. Safety read aloud to the students and encourage them to read and share their books with family members.

Sponsorships
Hawaii Self Storage is a proud sponsor of keiki athletics. From soccer teams to football leagues we provide needed resources to help support and encourage team work and participation in youth athletics. We are also a proud corporate sponsor of the University of Hawaii Athletic Program.

Charity Support
Hawaii Self Storage partners with many local charities and non-profit organizations by donating our services, resources, and organizing special events to raise funds and help support their causes.
In addition, Hawaii Self Storage's T.A.P. (Transition Assistance Program) provides temporary storage to individuals who are experiencing financial hardship due to a recent job loss, home loss, divorce, or death in the family. This program was created to help Hawaii residents through their transition as they readjust ther living situation

Community Service
Hawaii Self Storage encourages and supports volunteer work and community service among all our employees. Through the B.R.I.D.G.E. program Hawaii Self Storage donates money for each hour of community service that a team member completes, and those dollars are donated annually to the charity or organization of their choice.

Keiki Care Home
Ho’omalu o na Kamali’I is care home opened by Hawaii Self Storage owner Mike Wood, Foster Family Programs of Hawaii, the Department of Human Services and other community groups for children from the Leeward coast entering the child welfare system.
